Accessing "Service Software Files" on SIS homepage
After the new steering cylinder group has been installed on the machine, use the Service Information System (SIS) to attain the cylinder software file. Select "Service Software Files" on the SIS homepage to access the cylinder software files for the "M" Series Wheel Loaders.

Select "Cylinder Files - Cylinder Software Files"
From the "Select File Type" menu, select "Cylinder Files - Cylinder Software Files".

Enter: Serial Number, Part Number (000XXXXXXX)
Confirm that the selected file is "Cylinder Files". The part number and the serial number that will be entered are on the cylinder data tag that is attached to the new cylinder group. The locations of the numbers on the tag are shown below.Note: If the cylinder data tag is missing from the new cylinder, the part number and the serial number are stamped on the cylinder tube.

Location of part number and serial numberNote: In the next test step, the seven-digit part number will be entered in the ten-digit SIS field. The part number MUST be preceded by three zeroes in order to fill the ten-digit SIS field. See the example in the test step.
Enter the part number and the serial number from the cylinder data tag for the cylinder group that has been installed on the machine.
The seven-digit part number must be preceded by three zeroes in order to fill the ten-digit SIS field. Example: part number "3456789" must be entered as "0003456789".
After the correct serial number and part number have been entered in the correct field, click "Search". Place the cursor over the appropriate file and press the left button on the mouse in order to save the file.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
In order to load the file into the ECM. Establish the Cat ET connection to the Implement ECM.
Navigate through the following Cat ET menus "Service", "Calibrations", Left or Right Steering Calibration.
Select the "Cylinder File" that you have downloaded from SIS and click "Open". The Implement ECM will be updated with the updated software file.
If the file is successfully loaded, a message box will display a "Right/Left Steering Cylinder Data Programmed Successfully!" message.
Repeat this procedure for each new steer cylinder group that has been installed on the machine.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position. Wait 20 seconds. Start the engine. Verify that the steering system is operating correctly before operating the machine.
