Illustration 1 shows the proper way to wire the instrument panel. The Schematic, RENR8045, "C11 and C13 Industrial Engine Electrical System" can also be used as a reference.Note: Do not connect the positive (+) wire of the 266-2296 Instrument Panel Gp to the starter terminal. Connecting the positive wire to the starter terminal may cause the 266-2296 Instrument Panel Gp to malfunction. This could also cause damage to the components inside the instrument panel.Note: Do not connect the negative (-) wire on the 266-2296 Instrument Panel Gp to the starter, to the chassis, or to the engine ground. This may also cause the 266-2296 Instrument Panel Gp to malfunction. The connection for the negative (-) wire on the 266-2296 Instrument Panel Gp must be connected to the battery through the battery disconnect switch.The 263-7214 Engine Wiring Gp can also be used to connect the 266-2296 Instrument Panel Gp to the battery. The 263-7214 Engine Wiring Gp also includes cable assemblies that connect the starter to the battery.
