Schematic of the "Winch Lockout" switchThis diagnostic code is recorded when the Implement ECM reads the signal wire (G767-WH) for the "Winch Lockout" switch as being below normal. The circuit is shorted to the ground circuit. The possible causes of the diagnostic code are listed below:
Short in the harness.
The "Winch Lockout" switch has failed.
The ECM has failed. This condition is unlikely.System Response:The machine response is listed below:
A level 2 warning will be generated.
The "Limp Home" option is available unless the switch fails.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SWITCH
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the switch from the machine harness.
At the harness connector for the switch, measure the resistance between signal contact 1 wire (G767-WH) and ground contact 2 wire (210-BK).Expected Result:The resistance that is measured is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance that is measured is greater than 5000 ohms. The resistance is correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NO - The resistance that is measured is less than 5000 ohms. The sensor has failed.Repair: Repair the switch or replace the switch.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Disconnect the J1 and J2 machine harness connectors from the ECM.
The switch remains disconnected.
At the machine harness connector J1, measure the resistance from contact J2-58 and J2-59 to all possible sources of ground. Expected Result:Each resistance measurement should be greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
YES - Each resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The resistance is less than 5000 ohms for one or more resistance measurements.Repair: There is a short in the machine harness. The short is between the signal wire and the circuit with the low resistance measurement. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
The switch remains disconnected.
The J1 and J2 machine harness connectors remain disconnected from the ECM.
At the machine harness connector for the switch, measure the resistance between the ground contact 2 (wire 210-BK) and frame ground. Expected Result:The resistance is less than 5.0 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance is less than 5.0 ohms. The resistance of the harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NO - The resistance is greater than 5.0 ohms. The ground circuit in the harness has failed.Repair: There is an open in the harness. The open is between the ground contact 2 wire (210-BK) and frame ground. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 4. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS
Inspect the contacts and clean the contacts of the harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connectors.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Clear all inactive diagnostic codes.
Operate the machine.
Stop the machine and place the parking brake switch in the ON position.
Check if the diagnostic code for the switch is active.Expected Result:The diagnostic code is not
