Removal Procedure
Start By:
Release the hydraulic pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
High hydraulic system pressure. To avoid personal injury, do not remove any hydraulic system lines, taps, or parts until all pressure has been relieved.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank into a suitable container.

Note: Plug and cap all hoses and openings. This will help to prevent fluid losses and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Remove bolt (1), the hose clip and the hose.

Remove hose assemblies (2) and (3) from the bottom of the hydraulic oil cooler.

Attach a lifting strap and a hoist to the hydraulic oil cooler. Remove six bolts (4) and the washers. Remove the hydraulic oil cooler.Installation Procedure

Attach a lifting strap and a hoist to the hydraulic oil cooler. Carefully position the hydraulic oil cooler. Install the washers and six bolts (4) .

Install hose assemblies (2) and (3) onto the bottom of the hydraulic oil cooler.

Install the hose, the hose clip and bolt (1) .
Fill the hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, SEBU6868, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities".
