FT1467 WrenchThe FT1467 Wrench can be made from a 5P7320 Wrench. A .50" (12.7 mm) square drive hole is added in the sledge pad of the wrench. To add the hole: ... Drill a .50" (12.7 mm) diameter hole, .75" (19.1 mm) from the end of the wrench. Drill the hole with a high speed steel drill.... Form the corners with a file or saw. The wrench can be used to get the initial (first) torque and also the final (last) torque. Use this procedure to tighten the nuts.... Put the FT1467 Wrench on the 9S7353 Torque Wrench and use it as an extension for the torque wrench. Hold the torque wrench at a point 16" (406.4 mm) from the square drive and tighten the nuts to a torque of 110 lb ft (149 N m). The actual torque on the nut will be 150 lb ft (205 N m) because of the extension on the torque wrench.... After all the nuts have been tightened to 150 lb ft (205 N m), mark the position of the nuts. Put the FT1467 Wrench on each nut and hit it with a hammer until each nut is turned 90° farther. The result is a torque of 800 lb ft (1090 N m).

The distance from the square drive of the torque wrench to where the torque wrench is held is important when the FT1467 Wrench is used with an extension. If values other than those shown are used, the formula that follows can be used to find the correct dial indication that gives the desired torque at the nut. Example: The desired initial torque above for the winch bolts is 150 lb ft (205 N m). If the dial indication was not given it could be found, as shown below, with the use of the formula.
