Put identification marks on all electrical wire assemblies connected to electric starting motor.1. Disconnect the electrical wires and cable assemblies (3) from the electric starting motor solenoid.2. Disconnect the electrical wires and cable assemblies (4) from electric starting motor (2).3. Fasten a lifting sling and a suitable lifting device to the electric starting motor (2). Remove mounting bolts (1). Remove electric starting motor (2) and the gasket from the flywheel housing. The weight of electric starting motor (2) is approximately 29 kg (65 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the electric starting motor.4. Check the condition of the gasket used between electric starting motor (2) and the flywheel housing. If the gasket is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.5. Position electric starting motor (2), and install mounting bolts (1).6. Connect the electrical wires and cable assemblies (4) to electric starting motor (2).7. Connect the electrical wires and cable assemblies (3) to the electric starting motor solenoid.
