Use this procedure to install a new limit switch in the screed jack power head.
1. Remove the screws that hold the power head cover in place and lift the cover off. See Illustration 2.
Illustration 2. Location of screed jack components.2. Disconnect the wires from the limit switch.3. Remove the bolts that hold the limit switch in place and remove the limit switch. See Illustration 3.
Illustration 3. Wire connections to limit switches.4. Install the new Microswitch® brand limit switch and connect the wires as shown in Illustration 4.
Illustration 4. Power head wiring schematic.5. Put the power head cover in position and install the screws that hold it in place. Tighten the screws diagonally.Procedure To Install Screed Jack Power Head
Use this procedure to be sure the screed jack power head is correctly installed.
1. Loosen the two allen head setscrews located in the underside of the screed jack power head housing.2. Pull the power head off the jack post. See Illustration 1.3. With 12 volts connected, ground the power head to the machine. Operate the motor in the post retracting direction (counterclockwise, viewed from the shaft end) until the motor stops automatically.4. Use the emergency handle provided with the machine to manually continue to retract the post until it is fully retracted. Then extend the post one turn.5. Put the power head in position on the jack post. Make sure the drive pin is engaged with the post coupler.6. Tighten the two allen head set screws that fasten the power head to the jack post.
