Illustration 1. Main junction box assembly.To improve the moisture resistance of each connector (J1 through J6), perform the procedure that follows. This work can be performed when the machine is brought in for routine maintenance or other service work.
1. Remove the two screws on the strain relief clamps of each connector.
Illustration 2. J1 connector.2. Loosen the back shells of each connector to expose the soldered connections.3. Inspect the soldered connections for corrosion. See Illustration 3.

If no corrosion is evident, spray the connection with Contact RE-NU (Miller-Stephenson MS-230) and allow it to dry.If corrosion is evident, slide back the clear plastic sleeves that cover the soldered connections. Spray the connection with Contact RE-NU (Miller-Stephenson MS-230) and allow it to dry. Slide the clear plastic sleeves back over the soldered connections.
5. Fill the area of the connection with silicone compound (General Electric G661). Make sure that all connectors and plastic sleeves are completely covered.6. Reinstall the back shell and strain relief clamp on each connector.
