A machine control pattern is selected by repositioning the lever on top of the four-way pilot valve group. See Illustration 5. After a selection has been performed, use the following icons to learn the corresponding machine movements in Illustration 9. Each machine control pattern has specific movements.
Stick Out (1) - To move the stick OUT, push the appropriate control lever to this position.
Swing Right (2) - To swing the upper structure to the right, push the appropriate control lever to this position.
Stick In (3) - Position the control lever to this direction in order to move the stick inward.
Swing Left (4) - To swing the upper structure to the left, push the appropriate control lever to this position.
Boom Lower (5) - To lower the boom, push the appropriate control lever to this position.
Bucket Dump (6) - To dump the bucket, push the appropriate control lever to this position.
Boom Raise (7) - To raise the boom, push the appropriate control lever to this position.
Bucket Close (8) - To close the bucket, push the appropriate control lever to this position. HOLD (9) stops the stick, the bucket, or the boom movements. Two incorporated functions may be performed at the same time by moving the appropriate control lever diagonally between the two positions.The four machine control patterns are shown in Illustration 9.

The machine control patterns in the left and right columns correspond to the left and right control levers: (1) MHI, (2) Kobelco, (3) SAE and (4) former SCM.
