Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
Remove the heat shielding.

Remove bolts (1) and plate (2).

Remove cable straps (5) and bolt (4).
Disconnect wiring harness (3) and position the harness out of the way.

Remove temperature sensor (6).Installation Procedure

A - Loctite Marine Grade Anti-Seize -
Install temperature sensor (6) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of temperature sensor (6).
Tighten temperature sensor (6) to a torque of 45 5 N m (398 44 lb in).
