Component Locations (1) Pilot selector and pressure control valve. (A) Pressure tap for the implement pilot circuit.Pilot selector and pressure control valve (1) is located on the right side of the machine under the operator's platform, and behind the secondary steering motor. The valve controls the pressure of the oil in the pilot circuit.The pressure tap for the implement pilot circuit (A) is located just above pilot selector and pressure control valve (1) .The pilot control valves are two-spool closed center valves. The two spools are held in a CENTER position by springs when the control levers are in the HOLD position.When a pilot control valve is moved out of the HOLD position, the pilot control valve directs the flow of pilot oil to a valve spool in the main control valve. This causes the valve spool to shift in order to allow high pressure oil from the implement pump to flow to the implement.

(2) Tilt control lever. (3) Lift control lever. (4) Auxiliary control lever (third function). (5) Implement lockout.Levers (2), (3), and (4) are located on the right side of the operator station next to the seat. The control lever for the implement lockout (5) is also located on the right side of the operator station next to the seat. Auxiliary control lever (4) actuates the optional auxiliary pilot valve.The standard implement hydraulic system consists of a separate lift control lever and a separate tilt control lever. The lift control lever activates the lift pilot control valve. The bucket will raise or the bucket will lower. The tilt control lever activates the tilt pilot control valve. The bucket will dump or the bucket will tilt back.Note: For 938G Wheel Loaders that are equipped with an auxiliary hydraulic system, an additional auxiliary control valve (third function), and an auxiliary work tool are also parts of the implement hydraulic system. To control this optional auxiliary work tool, auxiliary control lever (4) is added to the operator station.The implement lockout (5) is used to hold the control levers in the HOLD position. When the implement lockout (5) is in the LOCKED position, the pilot oil to the pilot control valves is blocked. Even though the operator can still move the control levers, this prevents operation of the bucket or the work tool. Note: The following information is only for IT38G Integrated Toolcarriers.

Location of the fourth function switch on IT38G Integrated Toolcarriers (6) Fourth function switch.A machine that is equipped with an auxiliary hydraulic system (fourth function) has an auxiliary control valve. Two pilot diverter solenoid valves are added to the pilot oil lines of the tilt circuit in order to control this optional work tool.A switch is installed in the console on the right side of the operator station. Switch (6) allows the operator to activate the solenoids. When the solenoids are activated, the auxiliary control valve (fourth function) can be controlled by the tilt control lever.
