Problem
The internal components of certain electric starting motors used on the 3100 Series Family of Engines may release gasses that can cause the solenoid contacts to corrode and result in a no start condition where the starter "clicks" but does not rotate the engine.
Action Required
Remove all 9W2946 Electric Starting Motors from parts stock with a date code prior to 12H. (December 1988) 12H 1-12=Month G=1987 H=1988 J=1989

Submit one claim for all 9W2946 Electric Starting Motors removed from parts stock.
