6. Reposition pressure valve (2) as shown.7. Remove plug (15) from pressure valve (2). 8. Remove O-ring seal (16) from plug (15). Remove spool (17) from pressure valve (2). 9. Remove plug (18), O-ring seal (19) and spool (20) from pressure valve (2). 10. Remove bolts (21) and head (3) from housing (22). 11. Remove piston (23), spring (24) and piston (25) located under head (3).12. Remove cup (26) from head (3). 13. Remove shim kit (27), if one was required. Remove cone (28) and gasket (29) from housing (22). 14. Remove rotating group (30) from housing (22).
There is spring force against retaining ring (31). When retaining ring (31) is removed, the spring force will be released. To prevent possible personal injury, removal of the internal components in rotating group (30) should be performed in a press in order to retain the spring and guide (32).
15. Put rotating group (30) in a press. Install a suitable size drive plate that is slightly smaller in diameter than guide (32), on guide (32).16. Put a slight amount of compression on guide (32) with the press. Using suitable ring pliers, remove retaining ring (31) and slowly release the spring compression.17. Remove guide (32), the spring, and remaining guide (34) from barrel (35). 18. Remove shaft (36), four bolts (37), two plates (38), pistons and plate (39) from housing (22). 19. Remove bolts (40) and cover (41). 20. Loosen plug (42) and remove swashplate (43) from housing (22). 21. If necessary, remove steps (44). Remove cup and cone (45) from housing (22). 22. Remove retaining ring (46) and lip seal (47) from housing (22).Assemble Hydraulic Oil Cooler Fan Drive Pump

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "TOOLS AND SHOP PRODUCT GUIDE, NENG2500", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
