Install an appropriate nylon lifting sling and a hoist to cylinder (9) . Place a shop towel between the sling and the cylinder in order to prevent damage to the sling. The weight of the cylinder is 235 kg (518 lb). Move the cylinder to a perpendicular position with the ground. Keep a sufficient amount of tension on the cylinder in order to remove the cylinder mounting.

Remove the four bolts, the washers, and the four half flanges that secure hose assembly (6) to the rod end of the cylinder. Remove the hose from the work tool and remove the two O-ring seals from the hose.
Disconnect hose assembly (10) from the rod end of the cylinder. Remove the hose assemblies and the valve from the work tool.

Remove the 12 bolts and the washers that secure bushing (11) to the lower housing. Repeat this step for the other side of the work tool.

Install two M16 x 2 guide studs (12) and two M20 x 2.5 forcing screws (13) to bushing (11) . Use the forcing screws to remove the bushing. The weight of the bushing is 15 kg (33 lb). Repeat this step for the other side of the work tool.

Inspect two bushings (18) . If necessary, remove two retaining rings (19) and the bushings. The following steps may be used to remove the bushings from the cylinder rod.

Use 3.0 mm (0.125 inch) low hydrogen welding rods "7018".
Weld a continuous bead 3.0 mm (0.150 inch) from each end of each bushing. The bead should be as uniform as possible. The bead should be 360 degrees around the inside diameter of the bushing.
Allow the bearing to cool. Use a hammer and Tooling (B) in order to remove the bushings.
