Remove Oil Filter Housing
1. Remove the bolts and the retainers from both ends of tube (1) and remove tube (1) from the engine. 2. Disconnect hoses (2) from the oil filter housing. 3. Remove three bolts (4) that hold adapter (3) to the oil filter housing. 4. Remove five bolts (5), bolt (6), three bolts (7) and plate (8) that hold the oil filter housing to the water temperature regulators. 5. Use tooling (A) to fasten a hoist to oil filter housing (10). Remove eight bolts (9) that hold the oil filter housing to the support and remove oil filter housing (10). The weight of the oil filter housing is 95 Kg (210 lb.).Install Oil Filter Housing
1. Use tooling (A) to fasten a hoist to oil filter housing (10). Put the oil filter housing in position on the support and install eight bolts (9) that hold it in position. 2. Install five bolts (5), bolt (6), plate (8) and three bolts (7) that hold the oil filter housing to the water temperature regulators. 3. Install three bolts (4) that hold adapter (3) to the oil filter housing. 4. Connect hoses (2) to the oil filter housing. 5. Make sure the O-ring seals, on both ends of tube (1), are in position and put clean engine oil on the seals. Put tube (1) in position and install the retainers and bolts to hold the tube in position on the engine.Disassemble Oil Filter Housing
Start By:a. remove oil filter housing
Cover (1) has spring tension behind it. To prevent personal injury, remove bolts slowly and evenly.
1. Remove the three bolts that hold cover (1) on the housing assembly. 2. Remove retainer (2), spring (3) and O-ring seal (4) from cover (1). 3. Remove three element assemblies (5) from the housing assembly. 4. Remove O-ring seals (7) from bypass valve housing (6).5. Remove the three bolts that hold bypass valve housing (6) on the housing assembly. The weight of housing (6) is 43 Kg (95 lb.). 6. Remove adapter (8) from the bypass valve housing. Remove O-ring seal (9) from the adapter. 7. Remove O-ring seal (11), and if necessary, remove pins (10) from the bypass valve housing. 8. Remove three nuts (12), the three bolts and support (13) from the bypass valve housing.
Cover (15) has spring tension behind it. To prevent personal injury, remove bolts (14) slowly and evenly.
9. Remove bolts (14) and (16), and covers (15) and (17) from the bypass valve housing. 10. Remove O-ring seals (20) and (21).11. Remove spring (19) and bypass valve (18) from the housing. 12. Remove three bolts (22), cover (23) and the three O-ring seals from the housing.13. Remove O-ring seal (25), and if necessary, remove pin (24) from the housing.Assemble Oil Filter Housing
1. Install the three O-ring seals on the face of the housing. Install cover (23) and three bolts (22) that hold on the housing.2. Install O-ring seal (25).3. If pin (24) was removed, install the new pin in the housing. Pin
