The issue pertains to certain 914G/G2, IT14G2 compact wheel loaders, and IT14G integrated toolcarriers installed with 148-2577 Pump Lines Gp or 111-7480 Pump Lines Gp. Reports state poor hystat performance and charge pump cavitation damage when the machine is cold. The symptoms are a result of the charge pump not keeping up with demand. The issue stems from a demand at the joint suction. Symptom can happen at cold start. Symptoms can disappear as the machine warms up. The problem has occurred in temperatures below −15° C (5° F).Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this issue. If failure occurs, report the failure through the CPI feedback tool in Service Information Management System (SIMSi) referencing CPI number 385758.Note: This issue only occurs in extreme low temperatures.A dealer modification is available to address the issue. The modification separates the suction for the charge and steering pump lines group. A machine that is warmed up or is operating in a normal climate does not suffer this issue.
