Information:
Machine Operating Temperature Range
The machine must function satisfactorily in the anticipated ambient temperature limits that are encountered during operation. The standard machine configuration is intended for use within an ambient temperature range of −18 °C (−0 °F) to 43 °C (109 °F). Special configurations for different ambient temperatures may be available. Consult your Cat dealer for additional information on special configurations of your machine.Machine Operation
Know the maximum height and the maximum reach of your machine. Serious injury or death by electrocution can occur if the machine or the work tools are not kept a safe distance from electrical power lines. Keep a distance of at least 3 m (10 feet) .
For safety, one of the following may require a greater distance:
Local codes
State codes
Requirements of the job siteOnly operate the machine while you are sitting in a seat. The seat belt must be fastened while you operate the machine. Only operate the controls while the engine is running. While you operate the machine slowly in an open area, check for proper operation of all controls and all protective devices. Before you move the machine, make sure that no one will be endangered.Do not allow riders on the machine unless the machine has an additional seat with a seat belt.Never use the work tool for a work platform.Note any needed repairs during machine operation. Report any needed repairs.Carry work tools at approximately 40 cm (15 inches) above ground level.Do not go close to the edge of a cliff, an excavation, or an overhang.Avoid operating the machine across the slope. When possible, operate the machine up the slopes and down the slopes. If the machine begins to sideslip on a downgrade, immediately remove the load and turn the machine downhill.Avoid any conditions that can lead to tipping the machine. The machine can tip when you work on hills, on banks and on slopes. Also, the machine can tip when you cross ditches, ridges, or other unexpected obstructions.Avoid changing direction of travel on a slope. Changing the direction of travel on a slope could result in tipping or side slipping of the machine.Maintain control of the machine. Do not overload the machine beyond the machine capacity.Never straddle a wire cable. Never allow other personnel to straddle a wire cable.Know the maximum dimensions of your machine.Check local regulations, state codes, and/or directives of the job site for a specific minimum distance from obstacles. Before you operate the machine, check with local utilities for the locations of underground pipes and for the locations of buried cables.Dangerous Operation Practices
Do not use feller bunchers to harvest trees in a fallen or blown over condition. Serious personal injury or death may result from high velocity projectiles being thrown through the cab window.
Feller bunchers are intended to fell standing trees, not for harvesting fallen or blown over trees.Do not use feller buncher to cut when the head and saw disc are tilted forward from the cab more than 20 degrees. Such use may result in high velocity projectiles, like wood
