1. Use a hoist and lifting bracket (A) to put the ring gear and hub in position inside wheel.2. Install the retainer without shims using four of the fastening bolts that are spaced apart the same amount.3. Tighten the fastening bolts to 100 10 lb.ft. (13,8 1,4 mkg) while slowly turning the wheel. This will seat the bearings.4. To find the correct amount of shims to install, use the following procedure: a) Use a 0 to 1 inch depth micrometer (1) to measure through the two tapped holes (2) and find the average depth from face of retainer to end of spindle.b) Use a 0 to 1 inch outside micrometer (3) to measure the thickness of retainer (4) next to the two tapped holes in retainer.c) Subtract the average thickness of retainer from the average depth. The correct amount of shims will be .010 in. (0,25 mm) thicker than the calculated gap between retainer and end of spindle.5. Remove the retainer and four bolts. Install the retainer with correct amount of shims.6. Tighten the fastening bolts to 200 20 lb.ft. (27,7 2,8 mkg).7. Install the lock wire in the fastening bolts. Be sure the wire does not go over bolt heads.8. Remove the bolts or stands, and lower the machine.end by:a) install planetary carrier assemblies
