START BY:Relieve Drive Line Torque Wind Up 1. Park the machine on a level surface and apply the park brake. Block the rear wheels. Turn the start switch off and disconnect the batteries. 2. Use the lever extension from the machine tool kit to fully lower the front suspension. Hold the lever in the "lower" position until the hissing noise stops, indicating that the accumulator has completely drained.On two axle machines with rear suspension, lower the rear suspension in the same way.It is not necessary to lower the rear suspension on three axle machines. 3. Drain the transmission oil. 4. Remove the crankcase guard. 5. Remove the covers (1), (2) and (3), together with support channel (4). 6. Disconnect the seven hoses from the transmission.7. On machines with a torque converter mounted retarder (TCMR), disconnect the air hose from the torque converter lock up control valve. 8. Remove the priming port plug from the hydraulic pump suction line and loosen the hydraulic tank filler cap to prevent oil from syphoning out of the tank. 9. Disconnect the pump delivery hose from the steel pipe (5) on the front of the transmission and remove the pipe.10. Disconnect the front axle breather hose (6) from the front of the transmission. 11. Disconnect the park brake cylinder air hose. 12. Disconnect the inter axle differential lock actuator hose (7) and switch wires (8). 13. Disconnect hoses (9) and (10) from the supplemental steer valve.14. Disconnect two hoses (11) from the transmission screen. 15. Disconnect the hoses from the supplemental steering pump. 16. Remove the gearshift selector cover and disconnect the shift cable by removing bolt (12) and nut(13). 17. Remove the: * Front Driveshaft (14).* Transmission Driveshaft (15).* Center Driveshaft (16). 18. Slowly loosen the two bolts securing the top mounting block to the frame and ... ... allow the transmission and transfer drive to pivot backward onto a piece of timber packing placed between the frame and the transfer drive housing. When the weight of the transmission is taken on the timber, remove the two bolts. 19. Remove the two bolts (17) securing the mounting bracket to the top of the transmission and remove the bracket complete with the transmission screen (18). 20. Attach a fabric type sling around the parking brake housing and hoist sufficiently to tilt the transmission forward to give access to the rear. Block the transmission in this position with another piece of timber placed between the brake housing and the frame.21. Install a 3/4 NC eye bolt (19) in the tapped hole at the front of the transmission. 22. Install lifting attachment (A) using two, 1/2 NC x 2 1/2 inch bolts in place of two of the cover bolts. Tilt the transmission back onto the original timber packing and remove the sling. 23. Drill out the indented lips (20) of the lower mounting pin locating rings and remove the rings using wrench (C). Remove the bolts from the mounting pins, and withdraw the pins.
