Unexpected machine movement can cause injury or death.In order to avoid possible machine movement, move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position and attach a Special Instruction, SEHS7332, "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the hydraulic lockout control.
Personal injury or death can occur from a counterweight falling during removal or installation.Do not allow personnel under or around the counterweight during removal or installation.Make sure that the lifting device is in good condition and is capable of handling the weight of the counterweight.

Use two people to install support blocks (8). Place the support blocks in a vertical position. The weight of each support block (8) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).
Start the machine. Back up the machine against counterweight (7). Align both support blocks (8) with the grooves in counterweight (7). The weight of counterweight (7) is approximately 12,111 kg (26,700 lb).

Position chain assemblies (11) and install bolts (12). Install nuts (10). Tighten nuts (10) to a torque of 15 3 N m (133 27 lb in). Install cotter pins (9).

Lift counterweight (7) above support blocks (8). Rotate support blocks (8) 90 degrees to the horizontal position. Lower counterweight (7) onto support blocks (8).
Illustration 12 g03580222Note: to align counterweight (7), it may be necessary to move counterweight (7) up and down.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (6). Install bolts (6). First, tighten bolts (6) by hand until the washers make contact with counterweight (7). Move control lever (1) downward to allow counterweight (7) to settle on the support blocks. Use Tooling (A) to tighten bolts (6).

Install plate (5) and bolts (4).

(3) Stop valves
(A) CLOSED position
(B) OPEN position
Place stop valves (3) in CLOSED Position (A).
Move switch (2) downward to the OFF position.

Close the right rear access door.
