Information:

Unequal wheel speed can result in drive line torque wind up which can cause drive line components to unload during disassembly. This can result in personal injury. Relieve the drive line torque wind-up before disassembly.
Start by:a. Install steering frame lock pin. 1. Remove the bolts and washers that hold drive shaft guard (2) to the rear frame. Remove drive shaft guard (2).2. Put a block under the center of drive shaft (1) to support it.3. Remove eight bolts (3) that fasten each end of center drive shaft (1).4. Separate center drive shaft (1) from the yokes. Remove the center drive shaft. The weight of the center drive shaft is 23 kg (51 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the center drive shaft.
When the center drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the front and rear drive shafts. Be sure all joint groups, yokes and lubrication fittings (front, center and rear) are in alignment with each other. Refer to Drive Shaft Alignment in this module for the correct alignment.
5. Put center drive shaft (1) in position between the front and rear drive shafts.6. Clean threads with Locquic Primer and apply Loctite 271 or similar thread lock prior to assembly. Install eight bolts (3) that fasten each end of drive shaft (1). Tighten the bolts evenly to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).7. Install drive shaft guard (2).End by:a. Remove steering frame lock pin.
