Install the gaskets, O-ring seals, and the spacer plate on the engine.
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cylinder head (22). Attach Tooling (B) to the side of cylinder head (22) that is near the turbocharger. The weight of cylinder head (22) is approximately 365 kg (800 lb).
Position cylinder head (22) on the dowel pins in the cylinder block. Note: Apply Tooling (C) to the bolt threads and both sides of the washers. Tighten the bolts in the following step sequence:
Install bolts (20) and bolts (23) according to the following procedure.
In a numerical sequence, tighten Bolt (1) through Bolt (26) to a torque of 270 15 N m (199 11 lb ft).
In a numerical sequence, tighten Bolt (1) through Bolt (26) to a torque of 450 15 N m (332 11 lb ft).
In a numerical sequence, again tighten Bolt (1) through Bolt (26) to a torque of 450 15 N m (332 11 lb ft).
In a numerical sequence, tighten Bolt (27) through Bolt (39) to a torque of 45 7 N m (33 5 lb ft).
Install supports (21).

Install adapter assembly (19) and sealing plate (18). Install bolts (17).

Install damper (16) and bolts (15).
Tighten bolts (15) to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft). Tighten the bolts in the following sequence: 1, 4, 2, 5, 3, 6, 1, 4.

Install bracket assembly (14).
Connect harness assembly (12) and (13).
Install cover (11).
Install tube assemblies (10).

Install new O-ring seals and sealing plate (9).

Install adapter assembly (8), thrust plate (7), and bolts (6).

Install gear (5). Install bolts (4).
Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft). Tighten the bolts in the following sequence: 1, 4, 2, 5, 3, 6, 1, 4.

Install cover (1) and the O-ring seal.
Install bolts (2) and washers (3).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change". End By:
Install the water temperature regulator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Temperature Regulator - Remove and Install".
Install the exhaust elbows. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install".
Install the turbochargers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
Install the fuel transfer pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Transfer Pump - Install".
Install the valve mechanism cover base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover Base - Remove and Install".
Install the electronic unit injectors. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Unit Injector - Install".
