Vehicles and Engines (Except D3 Tractor, 910 and 931 Loaders)Description of Change: A new switch group is used in several applications, like heat-start, starting air, and remote starting, glow plug and electric start on most vehicles and engines except D3 Tractors, 910 and 931 Loaders. The new switch group is designed to prevent an electrical arc (discharge of electricity across a gap) when the switch is activated. In certain conditions the former contact points in the former switch assembly can be welded together by an electrical arc.Adaptable As: The new 7N4160 Switch Group is larger than the former 8S7713 Switch Assembly. For this reason some panels on earlier machines and engines will not have enough space to install the new switch.
