Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Pressurized System: Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the cooling system filler cap, stop the engine and wait until the cooling system components are cool. Loosen the cooling system pressure cap slowly in order to relieve the pressure. Read and understand the Operation and Maintenance manual before performing cooling system maintenance.
Soak the top and soak the bottom tanks with soapy water around the interface of the cores and the tanks.
Pressurize the radiator assembly to 104 kPa (15 psi) or pressurize the radiator assembly until the radiator cap releases pressure.
The system should remain pressurized for at least 10 minutes. The system should not lose more than 6.9 kPa (1 psi) of pressure in the 10 minutes.
If the system vents more than 6.9 kPa (1 psi), visually inspect all of the seal joints for signs of leakage.
Repair the faulty joints.
Repeat Step 1 through Step 5.
