Introduction
This Special Instruction contains a repair procedure for locations on the cab of Forest Machines and Track Feller Bunchers that are known to leak. Sources on the machine that are known to leak are listed below:
Window seal
Door seal
Rear roof hatch
Front skylight
Rollover protection system (ROPS)
Rear lift eye on the boss assembly
Access panel for the rear isolation mount Required Materials

Follow the repair instructions for the specific areas that are listed below.Window Seal
Clean the entire surface (window frame) in order to remove any dirt or grease.
Ensure that the part number of the seal is correct.
Install the adhesive side of the seal to the painted steel on the surface.
Install the seal. Place the joints in a horizontal position on the top corners of the window. Place the joints in a vertical position on the bottom corners of the window.
If there are voids in the weld that are obstructing the seal from properly sealing, 3S-6252 Sealant may be used to seal any gaps.Door Seal
Move the seal from the door to the cab.
Cut the seal short of the floor panel and use 293-8877 Seal , 293-8878 Seal , and 293-8879 Seal to fill the open gaps.
Ensure that the seal is smooth at the top two corners without any deformation.
Ensure that the panel that is covering the latch mechanism is sealed properly with 5P-0880 Seal .Rear Roof Hatch and Front Skylight Leaks
The knobs on the roof hatch should have a 277-8433 Washer Seal . Ensure that these seals are not missing.
Ensure that the interior bracket is tight enough to make contact with the bottom of the panel that is on the hatch .
Ensure that the exterior knob is tightened and that the compression on the seal is even.
Ensure that the seal for the hatch is in place and that the knobs for the hatch are not missing. Rollover Protection System (ROPS)
Add 3S-6252 Sealant to any holes that allow water to enter the cab. The Boss on the Rear Lift Eye Leaks
Ensure that the bolt is present so that the hole is plugged.
Apply a light coating of 3S-6252 Sealant to the bolted joint in order to seal the joint. Access Panel on the Rear Isolation Mount
Ensure that the seal is in place. If the seal is missing then you should install a new 5P-0880 Seal .
