Start By:a. remove front tires and rims 1. Mark and identify all hose assemblies for installation purposes. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) from two swivels (2). Remove two swivels (2) from two pins (3). 2. Position a lifting sling to steering cylinder (4) as shown. Secure the lifting sling to a hoist. 3. Loosen locknut (5) from ball stud (6) as shown. Using a brass drift, drive the ball stud (6) out of spindle housing (7). Remove locknut (5) from ball stud (6), and remove the steering cylinder from spindle housing (7). Lower the steering cylinder, and remove the lifting sling. 4. Loosen, but do not remove locknut (8) from ball stud (9). Using a soft face hammer, drive ball stud (9) out of spindle housing (7). Remove locknut (8) from ball stud (9), and remove steering link (10) from spindle housing (7). 5. Remove bolt (11), the washer, and washer (12) from the pin.6. Repeat Step 5 for the remaining bottom washer. The socket setsrew must be removed to service the spindle housing.7. Loosen nut (15), and remove socket setscrew (14) and nut (15) from arm assembly (13). 8. Position Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device to spindle (16) as shown. Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. 9. Using Tooling (B), remove the upper and lower pins from spindle housing (7). 10. Position Tooling (C), and a suitable lifting device to spindle housing (7) as shown. Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Remove spindle housing (7) from arm assembly (13). The weight of spindle housing (7) is 500 Kg (1102 lb). 11. Remove seal (14) from spindle housing (7). Remove O-ring seal (15) from seal (14).12. Repeat Step 11 for the remaining seal. The following steps are for the installation of the spindle housing.13. Make sure all components of the spindle housing are clean of dirt and foreign material prior to installation.14. Check all seals and components for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. 15. Install O-ring seal (15) to seal (14). Install seal (14) to spindle housing (7) as shown.16. Repeat Step 15 for the reverse side. 17. Using Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device, install spindle housing (7) to arm assembly (13). Lower the temperature of the upper and lower pins to a temperature of -75 °C (-103 °F). Install the upper and lower pins to spindle housing (7). The weight of spindle housing (7) is 500 Kg (1102 lb). 18. Apply 4C-5591 Anti-Seize Compound to socket setscrew (14). Install socket setscrew (14) and nut (15) to arm assembly (13). Tighten nut (15) to arm assembly (13). Make sure there is a 2 mm (.08 in) gap between the washer and the arm assembly to allow grease to flow between the joints.19. Apply 7M-7456 Bearing Mount Compound to bolt (11). Install washer (12), bolt (11), and the washer to the pin.20. Repeat Step 19 for the remaining bottom pin. 21. Apply 4C-5591 Anti-Seize Compound to ball stud (9) prior
