This improvement has been implemented on service accumulators 449-7513 Cylinder As date built (02/23/2015) and later.An improved piston to rod retention method for the track recoil accumulator is now available for certain D7E Track-Type Tractors.ReferenceRefer to Special Instruction, REHS8537, "Installation Procedure for Installing Spring Pins in the Recoil Cylinder of Certain D7E Track-Type Tractors". This Special Instruction had previously recommended installing a spring pin between the piston and rod to provide positive retention. To provide additional protection against pin loosening, the spring pin has been replaced with set screw (1) that is staked after installation. Special Instruction, REHS8537 has been updated to reflect these improvements.
