Procedure For Improvement
The following steps may be taken to improve the seal of existing 5I-8368 Solenoid Valve Assemblies in the field.
1. Apply 8T-0065 Silicon Sealant around the solenoid valve housing where the wiring harness exits.2. Clamp the harness to the solenoid valve housing with a 6K-0806 Cable Strap. The strap prevents external forces from being applied to the contact point of the harness and the housing during handling and usage. In order to prevent water entry into the solenoid valve, the cable strap should not be loosened or removed when the parts are handled.
(1) Wiring harness.(2) 6K-0806 Cable Strap.(3) Solenoid valve.(A) 8T-0065 Silicon Sealant.
