--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: A new exhaust shield group is available for these engines. This new exhaust shield group includes new dry exhaust manifold soft wrap heat shield assemblies. These shield assemblies have been redesigned and modified when compared to the shield assemblies in the former exhaust shield group. The new shield assemblies are better able to withstand the heat load generated by a G3516 dry manifold gas engine.Adaptable To: The new 148-7180 Exhaust Shield Group replaces the former 121-7718 Exhaust Shield Group. The former group is canceled. The new 148-7180 Exhaust Shield Group is not available for parts service at the group level. Order the individual components of the group as identified in the illustration and chart. The chart also identifies which components in the new 148-7180 Exhaust Shield Group can be used to replace components in the former 121-7718 Exhaust Shield Group. As indicated in the chart, in some instances two new shield assemblies from the new 148-7180 Exhaust Shield Group are required to replace one shield assembly in the former 121-7718 Exhaust Shield Group. Also, in some instances one new shield assembly from the new 148-7180 Exhaust Shield Group is used to replace two shield assemblies in the former 121-7718 Exhaust Shield Group. The 121-9256 Shield Assembly (wastegate), in the former 121-7718 Exhaust Shield Group, is canceled and not replaced with any components in the new 148-7180 Exhaust Shield Group. The removal of the wastegate shield assembly allows better heat dissipation away from critical wastegate parts.
