Position bevel pinion (15) into differential carrier (1) .
Install lip seal (13) into bearing cage (14) that is shown in Illustration 1.
Do not install O-ring seal (10) at this time. In order to have end play that can be measured, start out with eight 6D-7614 Shims, and six 6D-7613 Shims. Position bearing cage (14) with enough shims (11) so there is end play that can be measured. Install ten bolts (12) and the washers that hold bearing cage (14) to differential carrier (1) .
Position 1P-7407 Eyebolt into the yoke end of bevel pinion (15) .
Position 8T-5096 Dial Indicator Gp onto the gear end of bevel pinion (15) .
Position a pry bar through the eyebolt. While you pry against a wood block and bearing cage (14), check the end play of bevel pinion (15).
Add shims (11) or remove shims (11) in order to give end play for bevel pinion (15) of 0.05 0.03 mm (0.002 0.001 inch).
After the correct end play has been obtained, remove bearing cage (14). Install O-ring seal (10) onto bearing cage (14) at this time. Install shims (11), bearing cage (14), ten bolts (12) and the washers.
Check the end play on bevel pinion (15) before you proceed to Step 10. Remove all Tooling at this time.
Install adjustment ring (21) into bearing cage (17).
Install bearing cup (16) into bearing cage (17) .Note: Bearing cage (17), and differential carrier (1) are equipped with a machined hole in each casting. When you install bearing cage (17) into differential carrier (1), ensure that these holes are in alignment. Refer to Section A-A in Illustration 1.
Install bearing cage (17) into differential carrier (1). Ensure that the machined hole in bearing cage (17) is in alignment with the machined hole in differential carrier (1) .
Install differential assembly (7) into differential carrier (1) with the axle centerline in the vertical position.
Rotate differential assembly (7) and bevel pinion (15) in order to seat differential assembly (7) correctly onto bearing cup (16) .
Install bearing cup (9) into the bore of cover (3). The bottom surface of bearing cup (9) should be flush with the bottom of cover (3) .
Lubricate the bore of differential carrier (1) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Position cover (3), and the O-ring seal onto differential carrier (1) .
Install 20 nuts (2), and the washers

Install adjustment ring (21) into bearing cage (17).
Install bearing cup (16) into bearing cage (17) .Note: Bearing cage (17), and differential carrier (1) are equipped with a machined hole in each casting. When you install bearing cage (17) into differential carrier (1), ensure that these holes are in alignment. Refer to Section A-A in Illustration 1.
Install bearing cage (17) into differential carrier (1). Ensure that the machined hole in bearing cage (17) is in alignment with the machined hole in differential carrier (1) .
Install differential assembly (7) into differential carrier (1) with the axle centerline in the vertical position.
Rotate differential assembly (7) and bevel pinion (15) in order to seat differential assembly (7) correctly onto bearing cup (16) .
Install bearing cup (9) into the bore of cover (3). The bottom surface of bearing cup (9) should be flush with the bottom of cover (3) .
Lubricate the bore of differential carrier (1) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Position cover (3), and the O-ring seal onto differential carrier (1) .
Install 20 nuts (2), and the washers
