Lower the temperature of bearings (3) and (4) and install bearings (3) and (4) in grapple snubber (1). If necessary, use Tooling (D) to install bearings (3) and (4).
Install seals (2) in grapple snubber (1).

Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device in order to position grapple snubber (1) on the grapple. The weight of grapple snubber (1) is approximately 125 kg (275 lb).

Install shim (8).

Install pin assembly (14) and bolt (15).

Use Tooling (C) to install retaining rings (12) on pin (13).
Install friction disc (11) and plate (10) on pin (13) and install the pin assembly into the clutch housing. Note: New friction discs (11) must be soaked in Tooling (E) for a minimum of five minutes prior to assembly.

Install remaining friction discs (11), plates (10), and springs (9).

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install necessary shims (7) (not shown), plate (6), and bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) evenly in a crisscross pattern.
Apply Tooling (F) to the bearings and to the clutch housing through the grease fittings that are on the bearing. Apply Tooling (F) to the clutch housing until grease comes out of the reversed grease zerk. Repeat this Step after one hour of operation after the initial fill.
