Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Open the fuel tank supply valve.
Open fuel tank supply valve if fitted and fuel return valve.
Do not crank the engine with the fuel supply or return shut off.
To prime, Key On, but do not start the engine. Allow the fuel system to prime until pump stops for approximately 1 minute.
Start the engine according to the normal operating procedures. The engine will begin to misfire briefly until air from the fuel filter is purged. No damage to the engine will occur.
Do not crank the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds. Allow the starting motor to cool for two minutes before cranking the engine again.
If the engine does not start repeat steps 1 and 2 to start the engine.
