Drain valve (1) is located underneath the swing frame by each swing drive.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Connect the hose fitting onto drain valve (1). The valve will open and the oil will drain. Dispose of fluids according to local regulations.Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for information on containing fluid spillage.
Clean drain valve (1) .
Check the oil level of the swing drive. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Swing Drive Oil Level - Check" for information on checking the oil level.
Repeat Step 1 through 4 for the other swing drives.
