Information:
Adjustment Of Swing Relief Valve
Swing Combiner And Relief Valve1. Carefully open the cap on the filler tube for the hydraulic tank. Let any pressure in the tank out and tighten the cap.
Hydraulic Pumps (Earlier)
(1) Pressure tap for swing pump.
Hydraulic Pumps (Later)
(1) Pressure tap for swing pump.2. Install a 0 to 41 500 kPa (0 to 6000 psi) pressure gauge in pressure tap (1) for the swing pump.3. Install the swing lock pin in the LOCKED position. If the pin does not drop into place, start the engine and move the swing control to the right or left until it does.4. Start the engine.5. Get the temperature of the oil up to 49 to 65°C (120 to 150°F).6. Move the swing control lever to the swing RIGHT position. Pressure must read 16 200 1030 kPa (2350 150 psi).7. Move the swing control lever to the swing LEFT position. Pressure must read 16 200 1030 kPa (2350 150 psi).
Cross-Section Of Swing Circuit Relief Valve
(2) Cover. (3) Shims.8. To adjust pressure setting, remove cover (2). Add or remove shims (3) as necessary. Add shims to increase the pressure. Remove shims to decrease the pressure. Each 0.13 mm (.005 in) shim will change the pressure setting 190 kPa (27 psi).Initiation Pressure Check And Adjustment
Housing For Plunger Adjustable Type Stems (Typical Illustration)
(1) Stem. (2) Springs (centering). (3) Retainer. (4) Threaded plunger. (5) Nut. (6) Housing. (7) Retainer. (A) Distance of plunger past nut.The hydraulic control valves are operated by pilot oil pressure. This allows the pilot control valves to modulate spool movement by controlling the amount of pressure sent to the valve spool. Initiation pressure is the point at which the valve stem starts to move. Housing (6) is used on each end of main control valve stems (1). Each housing contains springs (2), retainers (3) and (7), plunger (4) and nut (5). Plungers (4) adjust in each direction to center stems (1).Adjustment Of Valve Stem Modulation
1. Install a 0 to 4150 kPa (0 to 600 psi) pressure gauge in the pilot line to the end of valve spool to be checked.2. Start engine and run at high idle. Check that hydraulic oil is at operating temperature.3. Position implement so operator has an unobstructed view of implement movement.4. Slowly move pilot control valve for implement. Make note of pressure read on gauge when the implement starts to move.5. Compare pressure read to chart. If pressure read is not correct, adjust valve stem to provide correct spool modulation.6. Measure distance A of plunger (4) at the opposite end of the main control valve where the pilot pressure was taken. This is the present adjustment for initiation pressure.7. Loosen nut (5). Turn plunger (4) in to increase and out to decrease initiation pressure. One turn of plunger (4) will change pressure approximately 175 kPa (25 psi). Tighten nut (5).8. Do Step 4 again If initiation pressure is not correct, repeat Steps 6 and 7.Adjustment of Track Motor Rotary Group
