PROBLEM
0R3043 Remanufactured Cylinder Packs need to be inspected and removed from dealer parts stock if they are within the affected date code range.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect the date code on all dealer parts stock of 0R3043 Remanufactured cylinder packs. Remove all of these cylinder packs from dealer parts stock that were manufactured between September 21, 2000 and November 17, 2000 inclusive.
(i.e. Within the affected date code range.)
Explanation of date coding for Cylinder packs:
The date code is located on the tamper resistant part number label attached to the box. The date code is formatted as DDMMYYXXX (for example: a box marked with a date code of 1512980HL would indicate a part manufactured on December 15th, 1998 at plant number 0HL).
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all Remanufactured cylinder packs removed from parts stock.
TEPS/MEPS dealers are reimbursed for recalled parts stock by returning the affected parts stock to their administering Caterpillar dealer for replacement.

Any parts removed from parts stock should be returned in your next core shipment. PLEASE IGNORE THE NORMAL 15 DAY HOLDING PERIOD REQUIREMENT. Cylinder packs should be consolidated in a case by themselves, if quantities warrant. The case should be marked PI70016. All parts returned must be accompanied by a Core Credit Request (CCR) form and should be marked "warranty". This will ensure 100% core credit for the returned parts.
