System Operation Description:The event code, 3575-15 for utility to generator transfer failure that is high - least severe (1) utility to generator transfer failure warning will become active when both the following occur:
The system is attempting to transfer generator power.
The "utility to generator transfer failure warning event threshold" timer expires before the transfer is successful. The event code, 3575-0 utility to generator transfer failure that is high - most severe (3) utility to generator transfer failure shutdown will become active when both the following occur:
The system is attempting to transfer to generator power.
The "utility to generator transfer failure shutdown event threshold" timer expires before the transfer is successful. The utility to generator transfer failure warning and shutdown event threshold set point is used to configure the amount of time the system is allowed to attempt transferring to generator power before the system stops and returns to utility power. If a condition arises where a transfer to generator power is malfunctioning, this set point will determine the amount of time the bus will be unpowered before the system decides to return to utility provided power. The timer is started from the moment the utility breaker opens and stops when the generator breaker is read back as "closed". If this event is active, the control will not attempt to transfer to generator power. This event must be reset once the event becomes active.
EMCP 4.4 operation: Once this event becomes active, before the user resets the event, it is advised that the user ensures that all digital inputs configured for transfer to generator power are inactive on all units on the MGDL network. Resetting this event with even one digital input for transfer to generator power active can cause the system to behave undesirably.Test Step 1. Check the Wiring Harness for an Open Circuit or a Short Circuit to Ground
View active and logged diagnostic codes to determine if there are any other diagnostics that may indicate a problem with the system which may lead to a transfer failure.
Verify EMCP set point for "utility to generator transfer failure" warning and shutdown event timer limits. Ensure that the timer is set to the appropriate time allotted to complete system transfer.
Disconnect battery power from the engine.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the EMCP and Generator Breaker.
Wiring: Inspect system wiring for intermittent open circuits and high resistance, loose connections, and shorts to ground in between the EMCP relay or digital output. The EMCP relay or digital output is designated for generator breaker control to the generator breaker.
Measure the resistance of the wiring between the designated relay or digital output and the generator breaker. If more than 10 ohms of resistance is found, there is an open circuit or bad connection. Repair or replace the wiring. If less than 10 ohms of resistance is found, measure for battery voltage at the EMCP relay output pin and generator breaker connection point. If battery power is found at both points there may be a problem with the generator breaker. If battery
