AllDescription of Change: New Product Link Software is now available for PL151 and PL201 Product Link Modules. The enhancements included in the new Product Link Software are shown below:
Capability to enable wireless configurations of Report Start Time for Product Link Modules (ver. 1.5).
Modem Software Update Capability. Providing older modules with current production capability.
Enhanced On-Board Data Gathering Capability.
Event and Diagnostic Data Collection Improvements. Enabling compatibility with newer advanced Caterpillar Electronic components.
Machine Fuel Level Reporting (where provided electronically by other on-board systems).
Wireless Network Status Display Improvements. A new Cat ET status screen has been added to display the current status of the satellite network's ground control center. This new Cat ET status screen will also display a numeric indicator of the reliability of the connections.
SMU and Fuel Reporting Daily. The need to alternate SMU and Fuel reporting has been eliminated.
Enhanced Digital Input Event Reporting. Data filter has been removed, improving meaning and reliability.Adaptable To: The new 242-7204 Product Link Software is now being used in production. 242-7204 Product Link Software replaces 224-6310 Communication Software Gp on all PL151 and PL201 Product Link Modules that are in the field. The new 242-7204 Product Link Software is available (in the form of a flash file) through Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).Note: Product Link MODEM Software must be updated after the Product Link Software update has been completed. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS1753, "Product Link MODEM Programming with Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET)".
