Information:
Personal injury can result if the machine moves while testing. If the machine begins to move during test, reduce the engine speed immediately and engage the parking brake.
Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the brake system.

Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location. Move the machine away from other operating machines and away from personnel. Place the transmission direction control switch in the NEUTRAL position. Engage the parking brake. Lower the work tools to the ground. Stop the engine and put chocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Remove the pressure from the brake system by pumping the service brake pedal at a rate of one second ON and one second OFF. Continue to pump the brakes until a minimum of 110 applications have been completed. Do not assume that the pressure is removed from the circuit if the brake pedal has no resistance.

Left front wheel housing
Remove plug (2) from the left front wheel housing.
Place seal (B) onto fitting (C). Then screw the assembly into the wheel housing in order to replace plug (2).
Connect tooling (A) to fitting (C). Test Procedure
Start the engine.
The Parking brake should be engaged and the pressure should read 0.0 kPa (0.0 psi). If the pressure is above 0.0 kPa (0.0 psi), then replace the parking brake solenoid (3).
Use the parking brake override in Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) in order to force the parking brake to disengage. Refer to the Troubleshooting section of the Power Train Electronic Control System, RENR9029, "Override the Parking Brake Solenoid" for more information regarding the parking brake override.
The pressure should read 3700 345 kPa (540 50 psi).
If the pressure is incorrect, loosen locknut (4). Turn setscrew (5) clockwise or turn setscrew (5) counterclockwise until the pressure relief valve is at the correct pressure setting. Then tighten locknut (4). Adjustment Procedure

If the pressure does not respond in 3.5 seconds, check the brake discs, and check the pistons for indications of leakage. If leaks are discovered, then make the necessary repairs. Then repeat Step 2 through Step 5. If no leaks are discovered, then replace the parking brake solenoid (3). Refer to Power Train Electronic Control System, RENR9029, "24M Parking Brake Symptoms" for
