(4) WalkwaysThis presentation covers the SE50 VT screed with the electric screed plate heating system. This screed is equipped with a vibratory system and a tamper system. Optional extensions and end gates are available for width configuration.The main screed is equipped with rear-mounted extenders (3). The extenders provide variable paving widths. These extenders are hydraulically actuated using electronic controls for precision sizing of the mat. Walkways (4) along the extenders and the main screed allow the operator to move from one side of the screed to the other without walking on the newly laid mat.The screed is equipped with two main control locations. Operator stations (1) are mounted on the outboard ends of screed extenders (3). Optional control pendants (2), with limited screed control, are on each extender. These operator stations communicate with electronic control modules (ECMs) to monitor and control many tractor and screed functions for finite control of the mat geometry.The controls of operator stations (1) allow the screed to form a large variety of mat configurations. The basic specifications of the screed are:
Paving width - The mat width is adjustable from 2.5 - 5.0 M (8.4 - 16.4 ft.). Using bolt-on extensions, the width may be increased to a maximum of 8.0 M (26.2 ft.).
Crown angle - The crown of the mat is configurable between positive 5 percent and negative 2 percent per side (+10% and -4% overall).Note: The actual maximum paving width configuration for the screed is dependent upon the paving machine capacity. Refer to the paving machine documentation for more information before setting maximum width of the screed.The mat compaction is also variable. Vibratory speed is adjustable from 700 rpm to 3000 rpm. Tamper speed is adjustable from 700 rpm to 1800 rpm.This presentation gives a general overview of the machine and then covers each machine system in detail.
