Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7604, "416D, 420D, 424D, 428D, 430D, 432D, 438D, and 442D Backhoe Loaders", "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release". This module is part of Service Manual, RENR3570. The procedure for releasing the hydraulic system pressure is incorrect. Disregard Step 1 for the "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" of the "Operating Techniques" section.Replace Step 1 with the following information:
Retract the extendable stick. Install the lock pin for the extendable stick. Extend the extendable stick against the lock pin for 5 seconds. Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position. Actuate the extendable stick pedal in both directions in order to release hydraulic system pressure.Note: If the machine is equipped with an auxiliary pedal, actuate the top of the auxiliary pedal for 5 seconds. Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position. Actuate the auxiliary pedal in both directions in order to release hydraulic system pressure.Note: The procedure in Step 1 should be used in order to install a work tool attachment. Also, the procedure in Step 1 should be used in order to remove a work tool attachment.Note: Refer to Steps 2 through 7 in order to relieve hydraulic system pressure on all other functions.
