The CID 1426 diagnostic code is associated with the rear action lamp. The FMI 03 diagnostic code means that the Advisor module has detected the voltage is above normal.System Response:The failure of the CID 1426 FMI 03 diagnostic code will cause the action lamp to be continuously ON. Test Step 1. CHECK OF THE LAMP CIRCUIT
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the Advisor module.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Observe the action lamp.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Expected Result:The action lamp is OFF. Note: The action lamp will FLASH during the "key ON self test".Results:
OK - The action lamp is OFF. The Advisor module may have failed. Repair: Check the rear action lamp circuit again. With Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET), if available, perform a "Wiggle Test" on the machine wiring harness. The wiggle test may detect momentary or intermittent shorts or opens in the machine wiring harness.If all possible causes of the problem have been investigated and no problem can be found, you may need to replace the Advisor module.Prior to replacing an ECM, always contact the Technical Communicator at your dealership for possible consultation with Caterpillar. This consultation may greatly reduce repair time and expense. If the ECM must be replaced, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".STOP
NOT OK - The action lamp is ON. The harness circuit (wire 411-PK(Pink)) is shorted to the +battery circuit.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOP
