Rear Right Side of Tractor (1) Auger cylinder (2) Screed lift cylinderEach side of the tractor is equipped with auger cylinder (1) and screed lift cylinder (2). The auger cylinders are used to raise or lower the augers. The screed lift cylinders are used when the screed is lifted or when the screed counterbalance system is operating.

Right Side of Machine (3) Tow point cylinderTow point cylinder (3) is located on each side of the machine.The tow point cylinders raise and lower the tow point. When the tow point is changed, the screeds angle of attack is changed.

Front of Machine (7) Push rollers (8) Housing (9) Truck hitch rollersThe front of the tractor is equipped with push rollers (7). The push rollers contact the rear wheels of a truck. These rollers allow the tractor to push a truck during the paving operation. The truck hitch cylinders, if equipped, are located inside housing (8) at the front of the machine. The truck hitch cylinders control the movement of truck hitch rollers (9).

Left Side of Machine (10) Steering position sensor connector (11) Tie rod (12) Steering cylinder (13) WheelsThe left side of the machine is equipped with steering cylinder (12) and two sets of wheels (13). A tie rod (not shown) connects the right set of wheels to the left set of wheels.Note: The right side of the machine has two sets of wheels but no cylinder.The front wheels and the rear wheels on each side of the machine are connected by tie rod (11). The tie rod ensures wheels (13) turn in tandem. The mechanical linkages between the wheel sets allow the front and rear wheels to pivot at different rates.The steering control unit controls the flow of oil to steering cylinder (12). When oil is directed into the head end of the steering cylinder, the machine turns to the right. When oil is directed into the rod end of the steering cylinder, the machine turns to the left.The steering position sensor informs the machine ECM of the position of wheels (13) .Note: The steering position sensor is located inside the steering cylinder. For additional information about the steering position sensor, refer to "Propel Control System."
