Schematic of the Tire Water SolenoidThis diagnostic code is associated with the Tire Water Solenoid. The FMI 03 means that the Option ECM has detected that the voltage for the solenoid circuit is above normal.The following conditions could cause this diagnostic code to be activated:
The solenoid has failed.
The signal circuit is shorted to the +battery.
The Option ECM has failed. The failure of the Option ECM is unlikely. System Response:A Level 1 warning is generated.Note: Before performing this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure. Verify that all connections in the circuit are in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure. After making any possible fix to the circuit, attempt to actuate the solenoid in order to determine if the Diagnostic Code still exists. Some Diagnostic Codes may not display until the engine is running.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Observe the status of the diagnostic code.
Disconnect the Tire Water Solenoid from the machine harness. Expected Result:The active CID 3243 FMI 03 diagnostic code changes to a CID 3243 FMI 05 diagnostic code when the solenoid is disconnected.Results:
