Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the pump drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pump Drive - Remove".
Remove the transmission hydraulic control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve - Remove and Install".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Reposition control valve (1) 180 degrees. Remove relief valve (2).

Remove O-ring seal (3) from relief valve (2).Installation Procedure

Note: Inspect the O-ring seals, the seals, and the gaskets. Replace the O-ring seals, the seals, and the gaskets that are worn or damaged.Note: Lubricate O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install O-ring seal (3) on relief valve (2).

Install relief valve (2) to control valve (1).End By:
Install the transmission hydraulic control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve - Remove and Install".
Install the pump drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pump Drive - Install".
