Slips and falls can result in personal injury. Use the machine's access systems when adjusting the mirrors. If the mirrors cannot be reached using the machine access systems follow the instructions found within the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Mirror" in order to access the mirrors.
Before operating the machine, adjust the mirrors for the best visibility for the operator.Note: The objects that are seen in the mirror are closer than they appear to be.

Make sure that the mirrors are in proper working condition and that the mirrors are clean. Adjust all mirrors at the beginning of each work period and adjust the mirrors when you change operators. Modified Machines or machines that have additional equipment or attachments may influence your visibility. Mirror Adjustment
Park the machine on a level surface.
Position the machine in the roading position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Roading the Machine".
Move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position. For further details on this procedure, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls".
Stop the engine.
Adjust rear view mirrors in order to provide visibility behind the machine at a maximum distance of 30 m (98 ft) from the rear corners of the machine.
Adjust rear view mirrors in order to provide visibility around the machine at a minimum distance of 1 m (39 inch) from the machine.Note: You may need to use hand tools in order to adjust certain types of mirrors.Left Side Mirrors (A)
Left side mirrors (A) are located on the left side of the cab.

(1) Main mirror
(2) Auxiliary mirror The left side mirrors are used in order to see the left side of the machine and to the rear of the machine. Main Mirror (1) - The left side of the machine and a section of the rear tire should be seen from the operator seat.Auxiliary Mirror (2) - The left side of the machine and both tires should be seen from the operator seatAdjust the mirrors in order to see the following:
See an object on the ground at a distance of 1 m (3.3 ft) to the side of the machine
See an object on the ground at a distance of 30 m (98 ft) to the rear of the machineNote: Adjust the mirrors to ensure that there is no visibility gap between the mirrors.Right Side Mirrors (B) (If Equipped)
Right side mirrors (B) are located near the top engine access door. These mirrors are for machines equipped with a standard one-piece boom.
