What is a Retrofit
Retrofit - The adaptation of newer technology or content to older models of equipmentAfter being retrofitted, the engine will contain parts that are not in the Parts Manual for that engine. Examples of engine retrofits include:
Exhaust aftertreatment such as diesel particulate filters (DPF), oxidation catalysts, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR)
Engine control system upgrades
Fuel system upgrades

Registering retrofits will update the product configuration database. The dealer will see the correct, as-maintained, configuration in the SIMSi "Product Configuration" screen.
