Remove the drum. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drum - Remove and Install".

Position Tooling (A) under both sides of the machine, as shown.

Attach lifting straps and a hoist to yoke (3), as shown.
Remove four bolts (2) and the shims from the bottom of plate (4). Put identification marks on the shims for installation purposes.
Remove bolts (1) and install Tooling (B). Remove the remaining two bolts and the shims from the top of plate (4). Put identification marks on the shims for installation purposes.
Use two people in order to remove plate (4) from Tooling (B). The weight of the plate is 40 kg (88 lb).
Use the lifting straps and the hoist in order to remove yoke (3) from the machine. The weight of the yoke is 1080 kg (2380 lb).

Remove bearings (5) from yoke (3), if necessary.

Remove bearing race (6) from plate (4), if necessary.

Remove the bolts and the pins that fasten steering cylinders (7) to steering pivot (8) .

Remove the nuts and bolts (9) that hold the pins in place.

Position a suitable floor jack under steering pivot (8), as shown. Fasten the steering pivot to the floor jack.
Remove the grease fittings from pins (10). Remove pins from the frame and the steering pivot.Note: For assembly purposes, note the amount and the location of shims (11) .
Remove steering pivot (8) and shims (11) from the rear frame. The weight of the steering pivot is 185 kg (408 lb).

Remove bearings (12) and bearing race (13) from steering pivot (8), if necessary.
