Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install the idler to the elevator. The idler weighs 36 kg (80 lb). Install washer (6) and bolt (5) to idler (3) . Install nut (4) to bolt (5) . Tighten the nut to a torque of 1230 70 N m (907 52 lb ft). Remove the tooling from the idler.

Install the gasket and cover (2) to idler (3) . Install four bolts (1) to cover (2) . Remove the tooling from the elevator. Repeat the procedure for the other side.
