Raise the temperature of race (24). Install race (24) on shaft (13) .

Lower the temperature of race (22). Use Tooling (E) and a suitable press in order to install race (22) into housing (23) .

Raise the temperature of carrier (20). Install carrier (20) on rotor (12). Install seal (21) .

Raise the temperature of carrier (19). Install carrier (19) on rotor (12). Install seal rings (18) and retaining ring (17) .

Install bearing (16) on retainer (15) .

Raise the temperature of bearing (16) and retainer (15). Install bearing (16) and retainer (15) in rotor (12) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining ring (14) .

Install shaft (13) in housing (23). Install rotor (12) in housing (23) .

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to stator (8). The weight of the stator is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Install O-ring seal (11). Position stator (8) on the housing. Install bolts (9) and bolts (10). Tighten bolts (9) and bolts (10) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).

Note: A new bolt (5) must be used during assembly.
Install gear (7), retainer (6), and bolt (5).

Install seal (4), bearing (3), and O-ring seal (2) on cage (1) .End By: Install the retarder and bearing cage (drive shaft). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Retarder and Bearing Cage (Drive Shaft) - Install".
