Information:
Transmission will not shift into Hi (Need speed) separate HiF/HiR
Probable Causes
HI FWD synchronizer will not engage. Transmission synchronizer #2, solenoid #2.
HI REV synchronizer will not engage. Transmission synchronizer #1, solenoid #2.
Faulty temperature sensor.
Pump/motor (variator) is not reaching shift point. Worn Pump/motor (variator).
Clutch slippingTransmission will not shift into Aux (Need speed)
Probable Causes
Faulty output speed.
Faulty planetary speed.
Faulty temperature sensor.
Aux synchronizer will not engage. Transmission synchronizer #3, solenoid #1.Transmission goes into Neutral from AUX
Probable Causes
Faulty output speed.
Faulty planetary speed.
HI FWD synchronizer walking out. Transmission synchronizer #2, solenoid #2.Transmission Shifts Rough
Probable Causes
Faulty temperature sensor
Slow synchronizer engagements
Worn clutch, long fill
Faulty accumulator
Low charge pressure
Faulty torque accuracyShift Hunting
Probable Causes
Faulty accumulator
Low charge pressure
Worn clutch, long fill
Faulty torque accuracy
Clutch slipping
HI FWD synchronizers slipping. Transmission synchronizer #2, solenoid #2.
HI REV synchronizers slipping. Transmission synchronizer #1, solenoid #2.Low Rim Pull
Probable Causes
Oil level low
Low charge Pressure
Synchronizer slipping
Clutch slipping
Pump/motor (variator) not building torque due to make-up valve, flushing valve, or worn Pump/motor (variator).
Faulty temperature sensor (derate)High Rimpull
Probable Causes
Faulty torque accuracy due to actuator valve issue or variator actuator issue.Hydraulic Pump and Motor Group (Variator) Troubleshooting
The troubleshooting procedure assumes that there are no active diagnostic fault codes. Pressure connections for actuator valves A and B are made appropriately. Correct problem diagnostics are made at the appropriate step.

Check transmission charge pressure. Is the charge pressure 2551 138 kPa (370 20 psi)?
If yes, continue to Step 2.
If no, Repair transmission charge system before proceeding.Note: For the following, use "Transmission Hydrostatic Actuation Test" available in ET.
ET step 1. Full pressure is commanded to actuator (pump) valve A.
Is actuator (pump) valve A pressure at 2551 69 kPa (370 10 psi)?
If yes, continue to Step 3
If no, Valve could be damaged, replace valve and repeat test.
Is the replacement actuator (pump) valve A pressure at 2551 69 kPa (370 10 psi)?
If yes, continue to Step 3
If no, Probable internal leak. Check the tube seals for the actuator (pump) valve 1.
Are actuator tubes damaged?
If yes, probable internal seal leak of the actuator (pump) valve A. Requires transmission disassembly.
If no, Replace seals and repeat test.
Is the pressure of the actuator (pump) valve A at 2551 69 kPa (370 10 psi) with replaced seals.
If yes, continue to Step 3
If no, unknow internal failure requires transmission disassembly.
Check for negative Motor Speed Ratio (MSR).
Is MSR less than or equal to -1.3?
If yes, continue to Step 4.
If no, continue troubleshooting.
Is MSR greater than or equal to +1.3 or is MSR between -1.3 and +1.3?MSR is greater than or equal to +1.3. Possible incorrect harness connection. Swap the pump valve harness connections and repeat test. With swapped connectors is MSR less than or equal to -1.3?
If yes, continue to Step 4.
If no, Opposite side of valve could be damaged. proceed to step 3.c.
MSR is between -1.3 and +1.3 and or opposite side valve could be damaged. Is actuator valve B pressure equal to
